WoW Forever 1–60 index of sourced zones

This is the index, not a route. A band tells you which sourced pages touch those levels. It does not tell you the optimal zone at level 27, because that sentence was not in the sources.

Rules are from Blizzard articles retrieved 6 November 2026. Bands below are a reading aid. A band is not a claim that every quest in that range was checked.

The cap is 60

Leveling stays on the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, plus the new places Blizzard has described, and it stops at 60. Blizzard says the game is not scaling levels and there are no flying mounts.

Pick a ruleset with the people you will play with

The first login asks for an experience preset, Classic or Enhanced, and that preset is presentation only. Separately, each character chooses a ruleset: Normal, PvP, Roleplay, or Roleplay PvP. Hardcore is described as coming sometime after launch, not as a live ruleset on the launch article. Characters can group, guild, and raid together only inside the same ruleset and the same faction. The post-launch article says players on a PvP ruleset are restricted to one faction.

A familiar zone is not a familiar route

Blizzard says starting areas gain NPCs, quests, profession hooks, and recipes, and that more than 1,000 new quests are spread across 1–60. This atlas does not paste an older classic route over those zones.

Camps are a published pause, not a safe room

The launch article says a basic campfire can become a campsite. Nearby players can add up to three profession-made camp features, one from each player. Sitting or crafting there for at least one minute grants the feature buffs, and those buffs do not stack with the matching class buffs. The post-launch article adds that resting does not pause the dangers around the camp.

Legacy points are account progress, not a leveling shortcut map

Blizzard describes Legacy as challenges, perks, and rewards, with a launch spending cap of 16 Legacy Points on a character. Alternate characters are not required. The point checklist itself is not reproduced here.

1 and up

Opening levels

Skyborne have a published 1–12 start on Zephras Isle. Other characters begin in starting areas Blizzard says it has added to. Valley of Trials and Shadowglen are the two examples named. Full routes for those areas are not on this site.

13–20

Low teens to 20

Two new dungeons have official brackets here: Hall of Thanes at 13–18 and Ruins of Lordaeron at 15–20. No outdoor quest route for this band is sourced on this site.

24–33

Twenties

Excavation Site is 24–29 in the Wetlands. The City of Dalaran dungeon is 28–33 in Alterac, with named attunement starters. Outdoor routes for these levels are not sourced.

mid-30s to mid-40s

Mid-30s into the 40s

This is the band Blizzard gives the Riverglades, without exact endpoints. The Drowned City dungeon is 35–40. Krol'dok Stronghold, inside the Riverglades, is 40–45. Shen'dralas sits off Desolace, and Blizzard has not published a level number for it.

48–60

Late 40s to 60

Alcaz Prison is 48–53. Blackmaw Hold is 55–60. Shaper's Terrace is 58–60. Mount Hyjal is described by Blizzard without a number. A wiki infobox says 60, and that figure is labeled as a wiki figure on the Hyjal page. A September roadmap said new raids unlock on 9 December, including Hyjal Summit. That date has not been reconfirmed in a 6 November article used here.
